Coco's is worth understanding on its own terms. The chef is Dean Cicala, and the pitch is unusual: "We're going to try to be one of the first whole-food, zero-waste kitchens in Michigan. We're hoping that's something that will catch on. We're trying to cut down on waste and hopefully pass on the savings to the guests that come in." That is a specific claim, not marketing copy. Whether the pricing actually reflects it is something residents get to test firsthand.
The practical takeaway: a Van Hoosen afternoon followed by a Coco's reservation is now a coherent evening. Two years ago it was not.
Meadow Brook Hall's October Is Deeper Than One Trick-Or-Treat Day
